Dominican Hospital offers private lactation consultations for a reasonable fee. This service is provided by an international board certified lactation consultant. The breast pumps are available on a daily, weekly, monthly and long-term rental basis. These pumps are used in hospitals nationwide and are recommended if prolonged pumping is necessary due to a baby's premature birth or hospitalization. They can also increase milk supply for working mothers.
There is a one-time purchase of a pump kit with each rental. Dominican Lactation Services can help you pick the pump that is right for you. It is the client's responsibility to check with her health insurance company to find out if financial assistance is available to help with the purchase or rental of a breast pump.
