Checking your infant's hearing
At Dominican Hospital, we are happy to provide infant hearing screenings to all babies. A registered nurse coordinates the Hearing Screening Program. Volunteers and nursing staff have special training to perform infant hearing tests before each baby’s discharge from the hospital.
If an infant does not pass the hearing test, they will be referred locally for further evaluation. Over the years, we have been able to provide families with the earliest possible diagnosis and treatment plans for infants with hearing loss.
