We've taken special steps to make sure your hospital stay is pleasant. When packing for your stay at Dominican, please remember to bring:
- Your insurance information, including all necessary authorizations.

Clothing--a bathrobe, slippers and sleepwear.

Personal grooming items, protective cases for your eyeglasses, hearing aids and contact lenses.

List of medications you are taking, and information on how much and how often.
- Important phone numbers. A small amount of money ($10 or so) for magazines or gift shop items.

Reading materials and/or handiwork.
Please do not bring:

Valuables (jewelry, credit cards, cash in excess of $10 or so)

Medications (your physician will order)

Electrical appliances, unless they are battery-powered.
When You Arrive
- Arrive at the hospital at the prearranged time.
- Enter through the main entrance doors.
- After completing the admission procedure you will be escorted to your unit, where you will meet the people who will care for you.
At Your Service
- Food and Nutrition Services will provide a tempting variety of nutritious dishes that will aid in your recovery.
- Housekeeping and engineer staffs will meet your environmental service and maintenance needs.

Trained, professional chaplains serve people of all faiths. There is a beautiful peaceful chapel in the hospital, open to people of all faiths. The chapel is open Monday-Friday, 8 A.M.-8:30 P.M. Roman Catholic Mass, Monday-Friday, 4 P.M. There is also a small chapel area on the ground floor at Dominican Rehabilitation Services.

Patient Relations representatives are available to help you with concerns or problems that may arise during your stay. If you have a complaint or compliment, all of our employees are dedicated to quickly helping resolve any situation.
For Your Comfort

Your room is equipped with a remote controlled TV. We have channels set aside for patient education. Earphones are provided.

Volunteers deliver your mail and Patient E-Mail (P-Mail) on weekdays, and will deliver flowers and plants sent to you.

Your patient room has a phone. You may use a laptop computer to access your E-mail by attaching it to the cord from the phone in your room. The hospital has TDD phone equipment which can be placed in your room at your request.
- Patients and guests can access Dominican Hospital's wireless Internet service on their laptop computers. Simply request an Internet voucher from staff or volunteers.
Putting the Hospitality in Your Hospital Stay
- All patients may quickly reach food services, housekeeping, interpretation and notary services by calling Hospitality Services at extension 5555. These services are available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., closed on holidays. Telephone orders (VISA and MasterCard) are accepted. Items available in the Gift Shop include dishware, collectibles, crystal items, garden items, baby items, jewelry, toys and plush animals, greeting cards, candy, used books, balloons, flowers and sundries.

The Medical Library is open to the general public from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

No smoking inside all hospital buildings. There are disignated smoking areas outside.

Complimentary valet parking is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the hospital's main entrance for patients and visitors.
