Dominican Hospital Prenatal Services Program
Dominican Hospital Prenatal Services (DHPS) provides comprehensive health services for pregnant women, including assessment, medical care, education, counseling and referral to other agencies as needed.
DHPS is staffed by Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) working in close collaboration with physicians, childbirth educators, social workers, and registered clinical dietitians. A Certified Nurse-Midwife is a professional health care provider who is a registered nurse and who has graduated from an accredited advanced education program. CNMs attend women during labor and delivery. They are also trained and experienced in prenatal, postpartum, and routine gynecological care.
DHPS associates are committed to providing an environment which encourages patients' involvement in their care, fosters support and counseling, and is dedicated to quality, family-centered care.
Pregnant women can be referred to the program by a physician or health care agency, or can be self-referred. For more information, call (831) 457-7103.
