Cancer Support Group


Support for Those Challenged by Cancer


The Bennett & Suzy Katz Cancer Resource Center offers monthly forums and support groups for cancer patients, their families and friends. All sessions are held at the center, located on the Dominican Hospital campus.

The forums are presented during the Fireside Chat series, featuring guest experts in the complex issues surrounding cancer. Call (831) 462-7770 or click here for coming topics. Held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the fourth Monday of every month.

A Breast cancer Support Group is available for women with non-metastatic breast cancer at 11 a.m. the first Monday of each month, and at 5:30 p.m. the first and third Wednesday of each month.

A general Cancer Support Group is available for all whose lives are challenged by cancer (patients, family and friends) at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month.

The Look Good, Feel Better Program is designed to help women undergoing cancer treatment look their best. Licensed cosmetologists, trained to work with cancer patients, teach women how to enhance their appearance. Sessions are held at 10 a.m. the second Monday of every month. Preregistration is required, call (831) 462-7770.

A Caregiver Support Group is available for those caring for a family member or friend with cancer at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month.

A Lymphedema Education and Support Group welcomes individuals with lymphedema and their friends and families from 6 to 8 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month. For more information, contact Michelle Shippen at 566 2069.

An Ovarian Cancer Support Group welcomes drop-ins from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of every month.
