Dominican Hospital's Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Chances are, your baby will be perfect in every way, but if he or she is premature or requires intensive care, your newborn will be cared for on-site at Dominican Hospital's 20-bed Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Families appreciate the state-of-the-art technology and knowledgeable staff that is available for their infant’s care, while staying close to home.
Our NICU, with its garden view, is designed for premature and/or seriously ill newborns that require simple to complex critical care. We provide the most advanced care available to infants and families on the Central Coast, and partner with Stanford University's Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital to provide around-the-clock care by our highly trained, Stanford-educated neonatologists and neonatal nurses.
We provide a customized plan of care for each baby and their family to ensure the highest quality of medical treatment and patient satisfaction. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively from delivery to discharge to ensure that your baby gets the highest quality of care available.
Our transport team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to travel to hospitals throughout the region to pick up and stabilize infants needing specialized intensive care.
Transporting sick newborns to Dominican Hospital's highly specialized and equipped Level 3 NICU is just one of the many community outreach programs available. We also have an annual reunion celebration for all the baby graduates from our NICU. We love to visit and bond with the families year after year to see what a huge accomplishment our Level 3 NICU is to our community.
